- This study based on phenomenon of cultural diversity and the possibility of the Islam acculturation with the culture which opens the opportunity to arise various diversity models of Islamic application in communication, one of them is ta'aruf, one of them is ta’aruf. In the ta’aruf process, the couples are come from different backgrounds must decide the couple to go a further level, which is marriage. It is not a guarantee or enough as a preparation to be able to undergo the process of marriage. Because the merging of two individuals requires an adaptation process that is not easy. The aim of the research is to know the process of adaptation between husband and wife through interpersonal communication (Study on Couple’s Wives Who Married with Ta'aruf process). The concept of this study is to describe an experience as a married couple through ta’aruf. How the individuals adapt to the differences that exist on the spouse, trying to understand each other’s, and perform the role as a husband and wife by doing adaptation that is interacting with each other. The data collected through interviews with the subject of two people and with background where is the subject married through ta’aruf process with the initial subject i.e. LQ and JW The result of this study shows that from both subjects based on their experience. The Interpersonal communication initiated by the wife is one of the ways for both of them can have a sense of belonging each other and even grow the feelings of love that had not exist among them in the beginning of marriage.
