- Maximum Power Point Tracking on photovoltaic (PV) is needed to improve PV power efficiency. Improving the efficiency of PV output power is so necessary because the initial cost is expensive to make a power plant using PV. Photovoltaic is a clean energy, free energy because using sunlight, and also free from pollution, it makes PV a very precise energy to use. In finding the maximum power point of PV, one of the algorithms that could be an option is the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC). it is an algorithm that is inspired by how bee colonies look for honey. The converter using dc-dc converter type cuk. Cuk converter is a converter that can increase or decrease the voltage output. Efficiency The output power generated using Artificial Bee Colony algorithm and with Cuk converter is 91.37%. This result is certainly better than without using MPPT or using Perturb and Observe (P&O). The efficiency without MPPT produces 84.29% and 90.79% for P&O.
