- The purpose of this study discusses for the inculcation of the values of character based on local wisdom, especially discussing about the extent to which the level of student character development contained in the culture mpisi kalero and mpa'a gantao in the school junior high school 1 Donggo is very closely related to the nature and nature of human and that corresponds to the value that exists in strengthening character education. The method used in this research is qualitative in the form of descriptive. Sources of data in this study are primary and secondary data. Primary data itself is the data directly in the can of the informants or informants while the secondary data data that must be in search by through various literasi literature. Data collection techniques in this study consisted of observation, interviews, and documentation. The discussion focused on the problems based on the data obtained then analyzed. The results of this study indicate that in the process of planting the values of the character of students based on local wisdom, especially in the culture of kalero and mpa'a gantao has been running well by indicating the existence of teachers and students greeting each other both in the classroom and outside the class, nationalist, cooperative, independent and polite and well mannered all school citizens.
