- This research was conducted with duration of time for 30 days, which started on September 18, 2017 until October 17, 2017 in Gili Ketapang Sumberasih District, Probolinggo Province East Java . The purpose of this research is to know the feasibility of Purse Seine fishing gear in Gili Ketapang Island and to know the efficiency of Purse Seine fishing equipment to fisherman income in Gili Ketapang Island. The method used in this research is survey method with case study. Objects taken in this study are fishermen and mini ship owners Purse seine on Gili Ketapang Island District Sumberasih Probolinggo. The data that have been collected from the research activities are then analyzed to determine the feasibility of Purse seine fishing business in Gili Ketapang Island. The analysis technique in this quantitative research is with quantitative descriptive approach technique which emphasizes on numerical data (numbers) which is processed by statistical method. The results showed that purse seine fishing business is very feasible to do because the value of NPV is 4010 while the value of NPV is said to be feasible if more than 0. While the value of IRR is 152,17% , Net B / C 6, Pay back period 6 month and BEP production 13.218 kg and BEP price Rp 664, from that value can be concluded that fish catching business using Purse Seine fishing gear in Gili Ketapang very feasible to do. Therefore, this research is conducted to provide a source of information to fishermen that fishing business using purse seine fishing equipment is feasible because it will improve fisherman's economy.
