Daftar Isi:
- Cultivation of freshwater ornamental fish becomes one of fishing enterprises in Indonesia that promised to reveal. One of the freshwater ornamental fish is zebra fish (Danio rerio). The zebra fish belongs to the class of teleostoi fish and includes in Cyprinidae family. The attraction of this fish is the horizontal lines of silver and blue white in the body up to its fins. Zebra fish is one of the fish that is often used as biomedical fish research. Zebra fish has several advantages such as it can produce 300 - 400 eggs, the eggs are transparent. However, from these advantages, there is still a lack of cultivation information and Fertilization Rate (FR) and Hatching Rate (HR) of it. To improve the degree of conception and hatching, it can be done by giving environmental manipulation with salinity on egg maintenance media. The research was conducted on November 24, 2017 – December 12, 2018 at the Fish Cultivation Laboratory of Reproduction Division The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of giving different salinity on Fertilization Rate (FR) and Hatching Rate (HR) of zebra fish egg (Danio rerio) and to determine which one is the best salinity for the Fertilization Rate (FR) and Hatching Rate (HR) egg of zebra fish (Danio rerio). The method used in this research is experimental method and Randomized Complete Design (RAL) using 6 treatments (0 ppt, 2 ppt, 3 ppt, 4 ppt, 5 ppt, 6 ppt) and 3 replications. The data obtained were analyzed with method of variation analysis (ANAVA) and continued with the test of The Smallest Real Difference (BNT). The result obtained in the study of the effect of giving different salinity has very significant difference to the Fertilization Rate (FR) and Hatching Rate (HR). The best results for the Fertilization Rate (FR) of the best zebra fish eggs in all salinity and for the best hatching degree (HR) at 4 ppt salinity. The conclusion of this research is the use of different salinity on egg maintenance media gives the true effect to Fertilization Rate (FR) and Hatching Rate (HR). Based on the results of the study, it is recommended for further research to know the continuous life of larvae (SR).
