- The main problem of this research was the low of students’ metacognition ability and the number of error level in calculating the algebra form operation. The research problems of this research were: (1) How is the students’ metacognition ability in problems solving of algebra form operation with the properties of arithmetic operation (commutative, associative, and distributive)? (2) How is the students’ metacognition ability in problems solving of algebra form operation using lattice method?. The kind of this research was descriptive by using quantitative approach and experimental method. The subjects of this research were 3 students of class VII A as the experimental class (using lattice method) and 3 students of class VII B as the control class (using properties of form operation). The metacognition ability in the class which used properties of form operation showed the averages of 59,21% in moderate category. The metacognition ability in the class which used lattice method obtained the averages of 77,33% in high category.
