  • The ability of Indonesian students on TIMSS geometry content got the lowest score compared to other contents. Based on that background, this research is done to describe students’ errors type in solving mathematical TIMSS geometry problems based on Newman error theory. This research was conducted by means of qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects were VIII A graders at SMPN 1 Nalumsari Jepara. Data collection techniques used in this research were test and interview. Research instruments used were test sheets, scoring guide sheets, and interview guide. Data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that reading error was in low category, problem understanding error was in low category, transformation error was in medium category, processing skill error was in medium category, and writing error was in medium category.
