Daftar Isi:
- This study aims to find out: 1) the application of AIR learning to improve students 'mathematical connection abilities in the problems, 2) the ability of students' mathematical connection in solving problems in AIR learning. The type of research conducted is descriptive qualitative. Subject in this study were class VII SMP Negeri 6 Tanjung Pinang who summoned 29 students in the 2017/2018 school year. This study shows: 1) the implementation of the AIR learning model was carried out during two meetings in SMP Negeri 6 Tanjung Pinang. Students are given reading in the form of exercises done in groups. In applying this learning model, students are discussed and audited (auditory), students and students to solve problems (intellectually) and repeat the material that has been learned (repetition). The occurrence of speed after applying the AIR learning model with an average value of 78.79. 2) The ability of students 'mathematical connections in the application of environmental learning is seen in the indicator of mathematical connection ability, namely the representation of equivalent of representations of the same concept, looking for relationships between various representations of concepts and procedures, and using mathematics in everyday life. From the results obtained by the researcher, students' mathematical connection ability to the equivalent representation indicator of the same concept and looking for relationships between various concept representations and procedures.
