  • This research aimed to improving the self-confidence, and describing the responses of junior high school students about the implementation of Attention Relevance Confidence Satisfaction (ARCS) learning model in mathematics problem solving. This research was a classroom action research with three cycles, in which the subjects of this research were 26 SMP students of class 7th E, and the data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, and test. Quantitative and qualitative analysis were used as the data analysis techniques. The research results of the self-confidence improving from cycles I, II, and III were 50,77% with good description, 80,77% with very good description, and 81,92% in a very good description. While the results of students’ self-confidence improving based on the questionnaires from cycles I, II, and III were 57,7% with good description, 79,2% with very good description, and 83,6% in very good description. The students’ responses form cycles I, II, and III could create a self-confidence and satisfaction. This research is concluded that the implementation of ARCS learning model can improve the students’ self-confidence in mathematics problem solving.
