  • This research was aimed to describe: 1) how critical thinking ability of junior high school students by means of teams games tournament model, 2) how social attitude of junior high school student by means of teams games tournament model. To analyze thinking ability, several indicators were applied such as determining a concept and being able to formulate an action in solving a problem, giving the right argument in solving the problem and being able to conclude it, and evaluating the decision in the problem solving. Social attitudes, measured in this study, were discipline, responsibility, and caring attitude (tolerance, help). The employed research approach was descriptive research and the method used in this research wasqualitative method. Based on the result of the research, it could be concluded that: 1) students' critical thinking ability, measured by the three indicators of critical thinking ability, showed a score of 79.3 which meant that students' critical thinking ability level was high, 2) students' social attitude, as measured by the three attitudes (attitude of discipline, attitude of responsibility, and caring attitude), showed an overall score of 3.49 which meant that students' social attitudes were categorized as tiptop.
