  • Research in the background by the era of globalization, association between nations increasingly tight. Foreign students in Thailand who are studying at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang experience differences in communication behavior due to their cultural background. The purpose of this study is, To know the process of intercultural communication that occurred in foreign Thailand students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang in 2016. The method research used is qualitative descriptive by using sampling technique through proposive sampling with some predetermined criteria. This study refers to the theory of Anxiety / Uncertainty Management proposed by William Gudykunst. Explains when two individuals with different cultural backgrounds trying to interact for the first time will experience anxiety and worry in communicating. Five research subjects gave data through interviews as data collection techniques. Five subjects are foreign Thailand students University of Muhammadiyah Malang in 2016. The result of research related to the Behavior of Foreign Students Communication of Thailand in Indonesian Culture Adaptation Process is the obstacle experienced by foreign students of Thailand has similarity barrier, that is language problem This research stated that foreign students who have difficulty communicating with local Indonesian society, they use Verbal communication which usually using English because it takes time according to their ability to understand Indonesian language and use Non-Verbal communication (hand language) to reinforce communication.
