  • Background : Every baby is required to follow the Basic Immunization Basic (IDL) program that must be provided according to the age schedule. Injection actions in immunization can cause the baby to feel pain. Pain felt by the baby is an unpleasant experience that makes the baby feel the trauma or stress and discomfort. One way of pain management with the principle of atraumatic care that can be done is Non Nutritive Sucking. Non Nutritive Sucking can be done by giving pacifiers or pacifiers to the baby's mouth to stimulate the baby's sucking reflex without providing breast milk or other nutrients. Method : This research uses Quasi-experimental research design with post test only control design approach. There is an intervention group that is the group with the subject of research that will be given Non Nutritive Sucking intervention and there is a comparison group that is the control group given the action as usual or not given special intervention. The sampling technique used is Total Sampling, with the number of 15 research samples for each group. The data analysis used is Mann Whitney or Mann Whitney U-Test test on SPSS 16.0. Result : The result of statistical test showed that the mean value of pain score in the intervention group was 9.57 and in the control group was 21.43. With a significance value (p) of 0,000 where the value is less than α (0.005) or p≤0.005. Conclusion : There is influence of Non Nutritive Sucking on baby's pain response during immunization at Puskesmas Gribig Malang.
