- Background: The modern medicine for dyslipidemia consisted of several classes type medicine. However, there are also many alternative treatments to cure dyslipidemia such as using garlic bulbs and pare (bitter melon or also known also peria). This phenomenon is supported by several with in vivo studies. However, there is still no research that says which compounds of these two nutritious plants have the activities to overcome dyslipidemia and how the mechanism works. Therefore, the researcher took the case and done this research in silico. Objective: To identify the metabolite compound from garlic bulb and pare which able to give activities on overcoming dyslipidemia and to predict its working mechanism in silico. Methods: This study applied the Autodock Vina software to perform docking simulations for predicting the binding of ligands with receptors efficiently. The result will be the value of energy affinity (Kkal / Mol), then the visualization process was done to identify the interaction between ligand with receptor. Results and Conclusions: The results of this study showed that 21 metabolite compounds tested from garlic bulb, there are 9 compounds that are predicted to have activity to overcome dyslipidemia. In pare from 26 compounds there are 20 compounds that are predicted to have the activities. Then the mechanism of this compound is, 29 metabolite compounds are predicted to work as inhibiting of HMG Co-A reductase and 1 metabolite compound is predicted to work as PPAR-α agonist.
