  • Background : Acute myocardial infarction is a life-threatening condition with a clear sign of permanent muscle necrosis tissue caused by heart muscle losing oxygen supply. Isosorbide dinitrate is a medication in the group of vasodilator nitrate that can improve the balance between blood flow and oxygen leading to the heart. Objective : To find out the pattern of usage of Isosorbide Dinitrate (ISDN) at patients with acute myocardial infarction at inpatient care in Rumah Sakit Islam Aisyiyah Malang. Methods : A retrospective observational study, and the data was presented in descriptive at patients with acute myocardial infarction in January to December 2017. Result and Conclusion : The usage of single-drug therapy of Isosorbide Dinitrate (ISDN) was given to 99 patients (93%), while combination therapy was given to 8 patients (7%). The usage of Isosorbide Dinitrate (ISDN) in the single-drug was mostly (3x5mg) PO to 42 patients (43%), while the combination therapy was ISDN (5mg/hour) IV + ISDN (3x5mg) Sublingual to 2 patients (25%). Use of ISDN with switching is at most ISDN (1mg / hour) IV  ISDN (3x5mg) PO in 5 patients (19%)
