- Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is one of the language studies in used to critical language paradigm to try uncover the meaning behind the author's text wrote in mass media. This study aims to determine the Critical Discourse Analysis model by Theo Van Leeuwen. In theory Theo Van Leeuwen, there are two strategies or problems including, the process of exclusion and the process of inclusion. This two strategies are used by researchers to analyzed data in the news case of E-KTP by Setya Novanto 2017 on online news kompas.com and republika.co.id. The type of research used by researchers in this thesis is qualitative research. Data and sources from data of E-KTP case report Setya Novanto in 2017 on online news kompas.com and republika.co.id, that containing exclusion process and inclusion process. This research data collected used documentation technique. The stage of data analysis used by researchers in this research are data reduction, data presentation, exclusion analysis, inclusion analysis, corpus data, as well as withdrawal of conclusion/verification. This research is motivated by a political event that is the news of E-KTP case Setya Novanto in 2017. In writing news related to E-KTP case of Setya Novanto in 2017, the writer (journalist) is no longer in favor of social actors or suspects, but the news writer has sided with the reader by providing the correct information. The author's to the reader can be seen from the punishment given to the social actor or the suspect for a crime that has been committed. Crime in this case is the corruption of E-KTP in 2017. Based on the preaching of E-KTP case Setya Novanto in 2017 from two media namely Kompas and Republika, it can be concluded that Kompas and Republika tend to give the information as it is. Nevertheless, Kompas uses abstraction strategy in the case of E-KTP corruption Setya Novanto in 2017, while Republika uses more differentiation strategy, categorization, and identification in news of Setya Novanto E-KTP corruption case in 2017
