  • The ethnic conflict in the Solomon Islands between the inhabitants of Guadalcanal and the people of Malaita resulted in economic, government and Solomon security, until the Solomon Islands became a failed state. The failed state in the Solomon Islands, the Solomon government finally asked for help to Australia and finally responded by Australia by forming a mission RAMSI program. This study investigates the success of Australia through RAMSI in addressing ethnic conflicts in the Solomon Islands. The theory used in this study is the hegemony stability to analyze the involvement and success of Australia in overcoming the ethnic conflict in the Solomon Islands. While the concept used is the concept of failed state to see the condition of the Solomon Islands during a conflict. For the concept of humanitarian intervention to see the form of Australian intervention through RAMSI against Solomon. This research uses explanative method with data collection technique using literature study. The results of this study found that Australia through RAMSI successfully overcome ethnic conflict in the Solomon Islands because Australia is a hegemon country, hegemon in the economic, political and defense and security fields in the South Pacific region.
