- Janger art is a typical art Banyuwangi area. Janger's art is unique because it combines Banyuwangi and Bali. This study aims to find out what the meaning of non verbal messages by the community of Glowong Village, Wringinagung Banyuwangi Village on traditional media of Janger art. The method used in this research is the method of reception analysis with qualitative research approach and descriptive type. The research was conducted on October 5-October 18, 2017 in Dusun, Glowong, Wringinagung Village, Kec. Gambiran, Kab. Banyuwangi by using structured interviews and documentation. The subjects of the study were 8 people who fit the predefined criteria. Where 8 subjects were taken by interview. After that the data has been obtained in the test of its data validity using source triangulation. Result of research to Dusun community. Glowong, Wringinagung Village, Kec. Gambiran Kab. Banyuwangi as a subject gained in interpreting non verbal messages on Janger art media. People interpret the art of Janger through non-verbal messages by memaknainya with dance. Dance movement is somewhat different and is a typical warrior is found in the motion of dance on kecak and jangernya. Kecak basically still displays classical Balinese movements. These movements are then combined with the element of martial arts so as to produce distinctive dance moves. While janger motion tariinya is holding on to movements of classical Balinese dance. Janger dancers dancers perform the dance mostly in a rowing position or sit by. The conclusion of this research, from eight subjects of research that belong to the dominant hegemonic category is Pak Pomo, Pak Jumadiono, Pak Supriadi, who entered the negotiation positions including Pak Budiono, Pak Supriono, Pak Yasroh, Pak Sutarji, Pak Hartono. and who enter in opposition position does not exist. The most readers are in the category of negotiation positions, where the public audience generally accepts the dominant ideology but refuses its application in certain cases. People interpret janger art with dance. So people interpret the art of janger with the dance that symbolizes as a welcome dance for the royal guests.
