  • Background : DM is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglicemia associated with carbohydrate, protein, and fatty metabolism disorders caused by defects of insulin, insulin sensitivity or both. There are seven types of OAD with the different mechanism in lowering and controlling blood glucose levels such as biguanide, sulfonylurea, meglitinide, tiazolidinedione, α glucosidase inhibitor, SGLT2 inhibitor, DPPIV inhibitor. Objective : The study aim to know the pattern of OAD therapy in type two diabetes mellitus patients at Regional Public Hospital of Kediri. Method : This study is an observasional study in form of a retrospective descriptive study of type two diabetes mellitus patients at Regional Public Hospital of Kediri. Result and Conclusion The paterns of single OAD therapy given in 11 patients (23%), two combinations in 21 patients (44%), three combinations in 13 patients (27%), four combinations in 3 patients (6%). The patern of two combinations with the most of used is Metformin (3x500 mg) PO + Novorapid® (3x10 IU) SC in 3 patients (12%). The patern of three combinations with the most of used are Metformin (2x500 mg) PO + Novorapid® (3x10 IU) SC + Levemir® (1x10 IU) SC, Metformin (2x500 mg) PO + Novorapid® (3x10 IU) SC + Levemir® (1x14 IU) SC, Metformin (2x500 mg) PO + Novorapid® (3x12 IU) SC + Levemir® (1x14 IU) SC each as many as 1 patient (8%).
