- This study aims to find the influence of flame holder type on the stability of the butane flame inside the meso-scale combustor. Meso-scale combustor is composed of ceramic, tube-based evaporator stainless steel, quartz glass tube with 3.5 mm inner diameter and 5 mm outside. Perforated mesh made of stainless steel. Meso-scale combustor with perforated mesh 8 lines has a wider flame stability with a range of equivalent ratios ɸ = 0.80492 to ɸ = 1.95157 at speeds of 17.15 cm/s up to 57.36 cm/s. At the meso-scale combustor with perforated mesh 6 has a line of flame stability with the equivalent ratio ranges ɸ = 0.83175 up to ɸ = 1.84579 at a speed of 17.88 cm/s up to 53.98 cm/s. Visualization of flame with dark blue shows the combustion process on the fuel-poor mixture to stoichiometry, while the light blue color indicates the combustion process on the fuel-rich mixture.
