  • Education aims at teaching students to be more creative, responsible and democratic. Education functions to shape the nation’s intelligence and create individual who is able to improve him/herself and having noble deeds. Being creative and democratic students requires motivation both from within him/herself and other people. Motivation is divided into two, physical and psychological motivations. This study aims at finding the effect of students’ motivation and IQ (Intelligence Quotient) towards mathematics learning result. The approach of this study used descriptive quantitative approach. Population of this study included all students of MAN 1 Malang, while its sample was 114 students of XI SCIENCE 2, XI SCIENCE 3, XI SCIENCE 4 and XI SCIENCE 5. Analytical technique was by double regression. Data was taken by motivation questionnaire, IQ test and daily test for getting learning result. The result of the study showed that there was an effect resulted from the motivation and IQ towards the learning result. Regression test result showed the sig. value of 0.042 < 0.05 so that it proved the connection between motivation and IQ towards learning result. R square analysis result was 0.056. It means that the motivation and IQ had effect of 5.6% towards the learning result and the remaining 94.4% was due to other variables which had not been designated in this study. The conclusion of the study showed that there was no significant effect between students’ motivation and IQ towards mathematics learning result.
