- Discourse of illocution is a concept that does not only function to reveal or inmeans something, however it is also used to permeans an action. Discourse of directive illocution is a speech act that gives contribution to the listeners through imperative sentence to have his opponent say something which is appropriate with the speaker's intention. According to the previous statement, the purpose of this reseach are (1) to describe the means of the Discourse of directive illocution stated by ustad and ustadah in Islam Itu Indah, (2) to describe the function of Discourse of directive illocution stated by ustad and ustadzah in the Televition show Islam itu Indah and the connection with the da’wah strategy done by ustad. The research method used in analyzing the Discourse of directive illocution is descriptive qualitative. The data and sources in this research are ustad or ustadah utterances related to da'wah values obtained from transcripts of ustad or ustadah in giving da’wah in Islam Itu Indah. The result of this research is data which contains the discourse of directive illocution which was found many means of suggested, advised, ordered, and invited sentences. Otherwise, there is means of functions appeared based on its means. Those are namely competitive function which is included ordered and invited means, and advised means.However, both functions do not present speaker’s politeness towards the interlocutor. Based on the data, research match of strategies of da’wah used by ustad or ustadzah and ustadzah can be a characteristic or da'wah strategy in delivering the message of their da’wah
