PENGARUH YOGURT KONJAC TERHADAP KADAR KOLESTROL PADA Rattus norvegicus DIABETES

- Background: insulin resistance on diabetic suffers can induce an increased of cholesterol concentration. Food planning or diet is the first steps before drug induces. Food function which used on prevention or illness therapy is called nutraceutical. Nutraceutical has benefit effect on diabetic controls it caused can repaire glucose concentration on the blood and insulin sensitivities. Porang tubers including nutraceutical, contained high glucomanan which is can reduce the cholesterol concentration. Objective: the aim of the research was to find out the effect of konjac yogurt and optimum dose of konjac yogurt could decrease cholesterol concentration on male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) which is diabetic induced. Method: this study was using post test only control group design. Samples divided on 6 groups, that were healthy controls, negative controls (aquadest), positive controls (simvastatin + glibenclamide), first treatment (porang flour were 100 mg/kgBB + 50 mL/kgBB low fat milk) second treatment (porang flour were 200 mg/kgBB + 50 mL/kgBB low fat milk), third treatment (porang flour were 400 mg/kgBB +50 mL/kgBB low fat milk). This research was conducted for 28 days. Cholesterol concentration measured using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Data was obtained and analyzed using One Way ANOVA methods. Result and Conclusion: the result of this study showing that was giving konjac yogurt could decreased cholesterol concentration on the rat which is induced by diabetic. An effective dose especially for decreasing cholesterol concentration that was giving konjac yogurt with 100 mg/kgBB dose.
