  • This study aims to determine misconceptions, procedural errors, what factors cause students of Malang Bahrul Maghfiroh Junior High School to make mistakes related to concept errors and procedures in class VII material on the subject of One Variable Linear Equation. The type of this research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The objects in this research are Conceptual and Procedural Errors. The data sources are students of class VII-B of Bahrul Maghfiroh Junior High School Malang with a total of 28 students. The research data was collected by written test and interview The results showed that the conceptual mistakes made by students are caused; (1) It is wrong to understand the concept of open sentences. (2) False in determining mathematical model in the form of one linear equation. (3) False in solving linear equations of one variable by substitution. (4) Incorrect in calculating the tribe having similar variables. Procedural Error; (1) Error does not do / does not change to mathematical model. (2) Error did not proceed settlement process. (3) Error writing out the final result. Causal factors; (1) factors from within. (2) external factors.
