  • Malang Regency is the first largest coffee producer in East Java. In 2013 Malang Regency can produce coffee of 7,703 tons of coffee beans. The purpose of this research are: 1) analyzing market structure in coffee commodity in Malang Regency; 2) to analyze market behavior on coffee commodity in Malang Regency; and 3) to analyze market performance on coffee commodity in Malang Regency. Sampling method used in this research is Snowball Sampling and census method. The selection of research sites was done purposively. The area that used as research place is Tawangargo Village, Karangploso Sub-District, Malang Regency of East Java Province. This research is done by survey method and direct observation in the field. Data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis method used is with SCP approach. The results showed 1) the coffee market structure in Malang Regency that leads to oligopoly market; 2) the market behavior that occurs in the marketing of coffee is at the price determinant dominated by marketing institutions that are above it and the farmer only as the recipient of the price, based on the price correlation obtained by = 0.0037 close to zero, means the price relationship at two levels of the market less closely and can said the market is competing imperfectly; 3) the performance of the coffee market in the district of Malang is shown by the marketing margin on each channel of marketing is relatively large and share the uneven profit. It can be concluded that coffee marketing in Malang Regency is not efficient.
