- Curcuma is one of the herbs that contain essential oils and curcumin that can stimulate the secretion of gallbladder to produce bile which will affect the weight of abdominal fat and abdominal fat percentage. This study aims to determine the effect of adding curcuma flour to feed on abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat percentage in Java super chicken.This study aims to determine the effect of adding curcuma flour to feed on abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat percentage in Java super chicken. This study was conducted for 8 weeks, using 100 of Day Old Chick (DOC) Java super chicken. Analysis of variance using Completely Randomized Design (RAL). The treatments were P0 (basal feed); P1 (basal feed + 0.33 percent of curcuma); P2 (basal feed + 0.67 percent curcuma); P3 (basal feed + 1 percent curcuma). Treatment repeated as many as 5 times repetition. If the effect is done further test the Smallest Real Difference (BNT). The results showed that the addition of curcuma flour in the feed showed no significant effect (P> 0.05) on abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat percentage in Java super chicken. Based on this research, the addition of curcuma in feed with concentration up to 1 percent has not optimally affect the weight and percentage of abdominal fat in Java super chicken, so that need the addition of dosage of curcuma flour in feed.
