- The implementation of ACFTA doesn’t only affect ASEAN and China, but also has an effect on the United States which also partnered in trade with ASEAN. The removal of trade barriers under the ACFTA, makes ASEAN more easily interact in trade with China. It also affects the increasing trade value between ASEAN and China. So in this study aims to determine the effect of ACFTA implementation on ASEAN balance of trade with the United States. This research uses linear regression analysis technique to know the influence of ACFTA implementation to balance of trade between ASEAN and United States. This type of research is explanative and quantitative and using the approach of International Political Economy (IPE). After analyzed using linear regression analysis then got a: 150,954,439,678,225; b: 0.164, thitung(5,640)> ttable (2,571) so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Rsquare: 0,864x100% = 86,4%, big influence of ACFTA implementation to ASEAN balance of trade and United States. The factor of the ACFTA that affects the balance of trade between ASEAN and the United States is a discriminatory free trade agreement against a country not involved in ACFTA, trade blocs such as ACFTA can reduce economic welfare and reduce the economic growth of countries outside the ACFTA, and the elimination of trade barriers will be more benefiting ASEAN if it partner with China rather than with the United States which has no free trade agreement with ASEAN.
