  • This research aims to: (1) Determine whether business on small chili is financially proper or not, (2) Determine the marketing of the breeding of small chili. The determination of research location is done purposively at Karanganyar village, Poncokusumo district, Malang regency, East Java. The determination of responded is done using Purposive Sampling and Snow Ball Sampling. The method of data analysis uses the cost of invest (I), the operational cost of maintenance (OM), revenue (B), income (NB), NPV, IRR, B/C ratio, and Payback Period, also analysis on marketing. The result of the research shows that the NPV is positive > 0, which is Rp. Rp.13.558.880/1500m2. IRR is 13,63%, meaning that this business can create payback and loan interest rate amounting to 13,63% per year. Benefit-Cost Ratio amounting to 1.04 means that for every Rp. 1 will create benefit amounting to Rp. 1,04. The payback period for small chili business is shorter than the project period, that is 20 months. Based on financial properness analysis’ result, small chili business is categorized as a “proper” business. The marketing of small chili’s seeds is mostly conducted in Poncokusumo; more specific on Karanganyar, Dawuhan, and Poncokusumo village. Only a fraction of the total production is marketed outside Poncokusumo, that is Karangploso.
