- Learning Javanese script is part of preserving Javanese culture. Third grade elementary school student was taught the Javanese script letters and the way how to read the Javanese letter in simple sentences. All this time the learning process was conducted by memorizing the way Javanese script writing through imitating or thickening Javanese script letters. Moreover, media has been using as the learning tools through poster or Javanese script images. The learning process was only observation and imitation process of Javanese script. As a result, students easily bored to learning the Javanese script. Therefore, developing the media with an interesting game model and fun is chosen. The developed media called PARARAJA (Scrabble Board of Javanese script). The purpose of this research is (1) developing learning media PARARAJA (Scrabble Board of Javanese Script), (2) knowing the feasibility of media as a media of introduction of Javanese script with valid criteria, interesting and effective. This research use research and development (RnD) technique, also the research procedure use ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The research was conducted in 3 grade students in SDN Temas 01 Batu with 35 students. The data collection techniques are done through interviews, observing analysis phase, while questionnaires and documentation at the stage of development and implementation. Furthermore, the instruments of this research are interview sheets, observation sheets, questionnaire validation and questionnaire response of teachers and students. Data analysis techniques used qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that (1) the PARARAJA media was developed by adopting the scrabble game that has been modified using fragments of Javanese script letter that can be used to arrange words and to play random puzzles. (2) This media is very feasible to be used as a media to reading Javanese script with valid criteria, also effectively interesting. This is indicated by the validation value from experts with valid criteria which is 94%. While the student's response showed that the students are happy and interested in using the PARARAJA media, also the acquisition value of interesting criteria showed in 97%. This media also effectively used as a learning media, the teacher response value is 96% and supported by the results of the average student test score of 80, which means it has reached KKM score.
