- Indonesia is an archipelago country taht has many different tribes and culture, one of them Madurese. There are still many madurase community which hold fast to the culture of arranged marriage, but thre are also communities that frees children to choose their own soulmate with dating. The difference in the process before getting married can be effect on marriage life to the marital satisfaction. This research aim to know the difference in marital satisfaction of Madurese wife who was datting before marrige and who arranged marriage. The subject of this research was 200 Madurese wife aged 20 – 45 years. The Sampling is used purposive sampling. Data analyze technique was Independent Sample T-test. The result showed that there was a difference of marital satisfaction among wife who was datting before marriage and who arranged marriage. Its indicated by probability value (p) = 0,02 (p<0,05) where the wife who datting before marriage have higher marital satisfaction than who was arranged marriage.
