- Background: Stroke is clinical signs that develop rapidly caused by focal brain injuries or damages accompanied by symptoms that can occur for 24 hours, and can caused death. Statins are medications that can reduce stroke risks for 30% on patients with coronary artery disease and high lipid levels in plasma. Moreover, statins can reduce lipid levels as well as act in Pleiotropic action including vasodilatation, antithrombotics, anti-inflammation and antioxidant effects and plaque stabilization. Objective: This study is to know the usage pattern of statins on the ischemic patients in Sidoarjo Public Hospital on the period of January-June 2016 Method: This study employed observational method conducted retrospectively with consecutive sampling method on ischemic stroke hospitalized in Sidoarjo Public Hospital on the period of January 2016 to June 2016. Result and Conclusion: Atorvastatin and simvastatin used only single dose. The use of statins was mostly atorvastatin with the dosage of dosis (1x20mg)/PO on 43 patients (95%). Moreover, the use of simvastatin with the doage of (1x20mg)/PO on 2 patients (5%).
