- Preschool children autonomy appears from 18 months to 3 years old. In this phase, a child starts to develop self-control against rules and external limitation (i.e. parents, and social environment). They are starting to do what they want and refusing what they do not want. The goal of this research is to determine whether there is difference between preschool children autonomy viewed between working and unemployed mother. This research was conducted under quantitative non-experimental approach. The subjects are 80 mothers whose children are ranged from 3 to 6 years old at Aisyah Bustanul Athfal 1 Kindergarten, Dau, Malang. Subjects were taken using quota sampling. Autonomy Scale was used in this research. The result of analysis using Mann-Whitney test is 0.000 < (P=0.05) which shows there is difference between preschool children autonomy viewed from employed mothers and housewives
