- Port knocking is an authentication process done by knocking few particulars port to open and close the connection to a particular Service. In general, port knocking has a fixed port assignment procedure and is highly vulnerable to attacks from unauthorized parties, such as Brute Force attacks. This is what prompted the emergence of research related to the implementation of random port knocking, through the design of a system capable of setting random knocking rules and able to inform the list of random ports to the user. The weakness of this research is the communication path through which the random port list passes when it is transmitted is not on a secure path. Secure random port list generator is a server designed to generate random port list and able to send port list information to client via secure path. The process of port randomization is done by implementing pseudo random number generator and for securing its communication path equipped with secure socket layer or SSL. This secure random port list generator server will be integrated into the port knocking authentication mechanism. The application of this method aims to create a dynamic, safe and efficient authentication procedure. The test results obtained through the successful server test secure random port list generator in ensuring the random port list information sent to the client through a secure path and the peformansi test of the server secure random port list generator to the number of clients who request.
