PENGARUH EKSTRAK BUAH MENGKUDU (Morinda citrifolia L.) TERHADAP KADAR SUPEROKSIDA DISMUTASE (SOD) TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN (Rattus norvegicus strain wistar) YANG DIINDUKSI ALKOHOL

- Research Background : Alcohol is able to increase the enzyme CYP P450 2E1 which can cause the damage of mitochondria and so that decreasing the SOD level. Noni fruit ( Morinda citrifolia L.) contains flavonoids compound which can increase the SOD level. Research Objective : To prove the effect of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.) toward Superoxide Dismutase Levels (SOD) of alcohol-induced male white rat (Rattus norvegicus strain wistar). Research Methodology : This research has conducted by means of true experimental with post test only control group design. The sample was divided into 5 groups, induction of alcohol was given to the 4 groups, group P1, P2, and P3 were given noni fruit extract 22,4, 44,8, and 89,6 (mg/WeightKg/day). The data were analyzed by using normality test, homogeneity test, ANOVA test, Post Hoc Bonferroni test, and regression. Research result and discussion : The average result of the SOD level on P1 (25,97 U/ml) until P3 (46,52 U/ml) affect the increasing of SOD level with p <0,05. Result of linear regression test got 91%. Noni fruit extract that contains flavonoids will fix the damage of mitochondria structure so that the SOD level will be increased in sufficient amount. Conclusion : Noni fruit extract has an effect to increase (Morinda citrifolia L.) Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) levels of alcohol-induced male white rat.
