- Human can’t be separated from the term learning. Islam also obliges people to learn. Human can learning changes, they are in knowledge, attitude, or skills. However, many factors can affect the success of learning. One of them is the selection and application of the right learning models. Selection of the appropriate learning model can facilitate students in understanding the lesson. Cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) is one model of learning that can motivate students to learn. This research focuses on: 1. How is the application of cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) in SD Negeri III Sidorejo? 2. Is there any effect of cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) towards student's learning motivation in PAI subjects in SD Negeri III Sidorejo? This research uses quantitative approach, with experimental research type. The sample is used class VI students who are Muslims, taken with purposive sampling technique. Data collection was obtained through observation, documentation, and questionnaire. After the data was collected, the next is the scoring of the questionnaire. Followed by hypothesis testing using t test formula (comparation). The results showed that the effect in student learning motivation after the application of cooperative learning type STAD that is equal to 1.65%. At the first meeting, the percentage of student learning motivation is 79.14%, and the second meeting is 80.79%. The result of calculation using t test (comparation) shows that t count> table that is 15,348> 0,497. Because tarithmetic>ttable, then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It means, there is the effect of cooperative learning type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) toward students' learning motivation in PAI subjects in SD Negeri III Sidorejo-Banyuwangi.
