- Educational character reinforcement is a new policy of the government which is implemented at SDN Kauman 2 Malang. Educational character reinforcement can be applied to extracurricular. One of the excellent extracurricular in SDN Kauman 2 Malang is drawing. Educational character reinforcement on drawing extracurricular needs to be done in order to generate research findings that can optimize the application of educational character reinforcement on drawing extracurricular in SDN Kauman 2 Malang. The aimed of this research was to describe; (1) application of educational character reinforcement on drawing extracurricular according to the characteristics of drawing space in SDN Kauman 2 Malang, (2) obstacles encountered in applying educational character reinforcement on drawing extracurricular according to the characteristics of drawing space in SDN Kauman 2 Malang, (3) solution in overcoming obstacles educational character reinforcement application on drawing extracurricular according to the characteristics of drawing space in SDN Kauman 2 Malang. Qualitative descriptive was used in this research. Primary data source: headmaster, the teacher in charge of drawing extracurricular, teachers, and students of V class in SDN Kauman 2 Malang academic year 2017/2018 who joined drawing extracurricular, the total is 10 students. This research was conducted in January-February 2018. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that; (1) Educational character reinforcement can be applied to drawing extracurricular. It was proved from the data collection techniques which are showed that five educational character reinforcement values can be applied in drawing extracurricular activities except for sub-values because the application should use themes. (2) There are two obstacles faced in applying educational character reinforcement namely, external constraints and internal constraints. (3) The solutions from the school have been able to overcome the external and internal constraints faced so far. The conclusion is that all studied educational character reinforcement values and sub-values have been seen in drawing extracurricular activities except for certain the sub-values. The school already overcome the existing constrains. Suggestions that can be given in the implementation of activities is the teachers should use new methods such as using finger painting or college. Moreover, the school should always provide evaluation so that the application of educational character reinforcement on drawing extracurricular could be more balanced, so there is no significant constraint.
