- Crime Narcotics in Mojokerto has the number increased rapidly. It is characterized by the increasing number of recidivists Narcotics in Mojokerto. Inmates are expected to be a conscious human beings as listed on the purpose of punishment is no longer effective. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the effectiveness of the implementation of the imprisonment of prisoners of drugs and what are the causes of recurrence by Prisoners in Mojokerto. This study using sociological juridical approach. Sources of primary data obtained from field observations at the National Narcotics Agency, Mojokerto Police and Penitentiary Class II B Mojokerto and secondary data sources from literature study and documentation. While data collection techniques such as interviews observation and study of literature. Based on this research the effectiveness of the imprisonment of prisoners of narcotic considered not effective given the number of recidivists is increasing and some development activities are assessed not provide a deterrent effect equally to inmates of narcotic and non-fulfillment of some criminal elements, namely: the theory of the objective of sentencing, the effectiveness of criminal law enforcement and the effectiveness of imprisonment. As for the causes of repetition are: economy, environment, family, drug addiction, feeling comfortable being in prison.
