  • Background : Trichophyton rubrum is a species of dermatophyte that cause of dermatophytosis. Dermatophytosis is one of superficial fungal infections that most often occurs in many tropical countries. Kepok banana peels extract contains flavonoid, alkaloid, saponnin and tannin are able to act as an antifungal that can inhibit the growth of Trichophyton rubrum. Objective : Verifying that kepok banana peels (Musa paradisiaca L.) extract has effect as an antifungal on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum. Method : Experimental post test only group design. Method that used is dilution tube. The concentration of kepok banana peels extract that used is 50%, 25%, 12,5%, 6,25%, 3,125%, 1,56%, 0,78%, 0,39% Data analysis using One Way Anova, Post Hoc Tamhane and Linier Regression. Results and Discussion : MIC can’t be evaluated. MBC at 12,5% concentration. The result of One Way Anova p=0,000 (p<0,05) showed there was significant difference. Post Hoc Tamhane showed results starting at 0.78% concentration with significance value 0.015 (p<0.05) concluded kepok banana peel extract had an effect on the decrease of Trichophyton rubrum beginning to show at 0.78% concentration. Regression test (R2 = 0,956) showed that kepok banana peels extract concentration had an effect on decreasing of Trichophyton rubrum colony by 95,6% Conclusion : Administration of kepok banana peels extract has effect as an antifungal decreasing the growth of Trichophyton rubrum.
