- This study discusses the Yuan devaluation policy as a form of Chinese Counter Hegemony against the United States. The United States is a super power country that has a broad hegemony compared to other countries, the hegemony is inseparable from its monetary power. Currently, the United States is not in a position to interfere with the policies of other countries, especially China. China is a country that has experienced amazing development, especially in its economy. China opens politically and economically by participating in the world economy through the liberalization of currency exchange rates, international trade and investment. The study used the explanative method, explaining the devaluation policy of the Yuan as an interesting subject to be analyzed using Counter Hegemony theory as a resistance to the United States. The result of this research is Yuan devaluation policy as a form of China counter hegemony to United States, can be seen in the context of War of Movement, Yuan devaluation policy is a Chinese counter hegemony movement that is influenced by several factors. Meanwhile, in the context of War of Position, the Chinese government's encouragement through existing society instruments to make Yuan as the world's reserve currency, so it can be used in international transactions. So the policy is a Chinese strategy to shift dominance and reduce dependence on the US dollar (United States).
