- Strengthening Character Education is part of the National Movement of the Mental Revolution that is carried out to strengthen the character of learners through three main approaches that are based on class, culture, and society. SDN Purwantoro 1 has implemented a program of Strengthening Character Education through school culture. This study aimed to describe the implementation of Strengthening Character Education through school culture, the problems and the solutions to overcome the problems of implementation of Strengthening Character Education through school culture in SDN Purwantoro 1 Malang. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. The sources of data were obtained from principals, teachers, extracurricular coaches and students. This study was conducted in the even semester of the academic year 2017-2018. The data collection methods were observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed (1) the implementation of Strengthening Character Education through school culture in SDN Purwantoro 1 was done through routine activities, spontaneous activities, exemplary activities, and conditioning. The values of character were implanted which were religious value, nationalist value, independent value, helps each other value, and integrity value. (2) problems that were experienced were related to the facilities and infrastructure. (3) the first solution that was related to the facilities and infrastructure of worship space available in the school was not wide enough, so the congregational prayer activity alternated into three waves. The second problem was related to scout equipment where the school provided approximately 50 percent of the number of learners so that learners should bring the equipment from home.
