- Raising children with special needs can certainly cause stress, especially for mother. Mothers who feel stigmatized with children with special needs, experiencing fatigue due to additional parenting demands, socially isolated, and burdened financial costs. Conditions like these that potentially bring stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of stress in mothers who have children with special needs in Malang. The research design used non-quantitative experiment with data collection method and stress scale adapted. The number of subjects in this study is 54 mothers who have children with special needs in 6 SDLB Malang. The result of this research concludes that stress level in children with special needs mother in Malang is high with percentage equal to 57.4%, where stress include physical, psychic, and behavioral phenomenon from mother with special needs child. The presence of high stress indicates that the mother of a child with special needs experiences anxiety stress.
