  • Along with the development of the times and technology, many people use social media. This led to a new phenomenon in terms of technology abuse that is plagiarism in social media. One of the factors causing plagiarism behavior is the lack of individual confidence in the ability to achieve the expected goals. This research aim was to examine the effect of self-efficacy on plagiarism behavior in social media. This research using quantitative method with cross sectional study approach. This research using purposive sampling technique. Subject of this research are active social media users who are students of University of Muhammadiyah Malang, amount to 350 people. The results of regression analysis showed = 0,043, P = 0,000 (p<0.05) dan B = -0,444. It means that self-efficacy influenced plagiarism behavior in social media. It contributes around 4,3% to plagiarism behavior. The results also showed that high self-efficacy leads to low plagiarism behavior and the low self-efficacy leads to the high plagiarism behavior in social media.
