- Observations and interview in SDN Bunulrejo 2 Malang obtained that the thematic learning theacher to use the media and visual aid device in the of objects that can be found in the school. However st in order to give beneficial experience, learning media is requires to be used in learning process. Nowadays, in thematic learning, teacher has restrictiveness in teaching, one of them is influenced by the lack of thematic learning media that can support the teacher to relate the concepts among subjects. This study is aimed to develop learning media ”Exploding Box Pop Up 3D “ in Thematic Learning Topic 5 Sub-topic 1 for 4th Grade of Elementary School. This study is conducted by using research and development model according to ADDIE theory. Steps of ADDIE theory consist of : (1) analyzing, (2) designing, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The result of learning media development Exploding Box Pop Up 3D in Thematic Learning Topic 5 Sub-topic 1 shows the media validity that consist of three validations, such as: media expert validation is 100% very valid or proper of use without revision. Validation result of material expert is 80% very valid or proper of use without revision. Validation result by learning expert is 97% very valid or proper of use without revision. Effectiveness data obtained from learning result of students is 84% or above the minimum score and complete with the media is effective. Interest data obtained from the students response towards the media is 94 % with criteria is very interesting. The finding of this study shows that learning media Exploding Box Pop Up 3D in Thematic Learning Topic 5 Sub-topic 1 is including to the very valid or proper, effective, and interesting. This learning media is suggested to be used as companion or main media for the teacher in conducting thematic learning process.
