- Background: Malassezia furfur is a single species that causes Pitiriasis versicolor. Pityriasis versicolor therapy is topical or systemic drug which have reveral side effects and resistance. That, its need assesment of herbs as antifungal therapy. Flower clover considered to has various of contain that can work as antifungal such eugenol which works by damaging the plasma membrane and interfere with the metabolism. Purpose: To prove correlation between clover flower juice (Syzigium aromaticum) on the growth of Malassezia furfur in vitro. Research Method: Experimental post-test only with control, using a dilution tube with clove juice concentration 100% 50% 25% 12,5% 6,25% 3,125% 1,56% 0,78% 0,39% 0%. Data were analyzed using Kruskall-Wallis test and continued by using Post Hoc Mann Whitney test. Discuss and Result: MIC can not be measured because flower clover juice have eugenol chemical content of solid color and turbid so to difficult to interpret and MLC score was 1,56%. Kruskall-Wallis test showed a significant difference each treatments ( p = 0,002). Post Hoc Mann Whitney test showed different notation each treatments. Conclusion: Flower clove juice had antifungal effect on the growth of Malassezia furfur in vitro.
