Hubungan Kepatuhan Pekerja dalam Menggunakan Alat Pelindung Diri Terhadap Kejadian Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) di PT Coats Rejo Indonesia
Daftar Isi:
- Background: In 2012, International Labour Organization (ILO) noted there was 2 million cases due to occupational illness each year. One of the physical factors that causes occupational illness is noise. Noise at workplace comes from the production machine and / or tools on a certain level may cause hearing problems. The most common hearing problem is noice induced hearing loss (NIHL). Objective: Study the correlation between workers compliance in using personal protective equipment (PPE) to incidence of noise induced hearing loss. Methods: observational analytic study with cross-sectional design. Samples of this study is all of workers in production departments of PT Coats Rejo Indonesia. Result: Chi-square test results on correlation between workers compliance used PPE with incidence of NIHL obtained significant value 0,007 (p < 0,05). Correlation between age with incidence of NIHL obtained significant value 0,038 (p < 0,05). Correlation between length of work with incidence of NIHL obtained significant value 0,000 (p < 0,05). Correlation between time of noise exposure with incidence of NIHL obtained significant value 0,207 ( p > 0,05). Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between the workers compliance in using PPE with incidence of NIHL, age with incidence of NIHL, length of work with incidence of NIHL, There were no significant correlation between time of noise exposure with incidence of NIHL.
