- Notary is one of the strategic legal profession carrier in relation to law enforcement mission in Indonesia. The roles performed by a notary in providing services to the client in general will affect the world of justice, the influence caused by the role of a notary can be positive and also negative. This negative impact will reduce the credibility of society to the notary profession and law enforcement world in this country. For this reason, the Supervisory Board was formed to prevent the problems caused by a notary who allegedly committed a violation of the code of ethics and the position of a notary as much as possible could be minimized. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of authority & taskof Regional Supervisory Board Notary Malang City in supervision of Notary Performance. This research is Juridical Sociological that is to describe all data obtained from the field related to the title of research in clear and detailed which then analyzed to answer the existing problems. The results showed that the Regional Supervisory Board of Malang has run in accordance with what is in the legislation that is in Article 16 Regulation of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number : M.02. PR.08.10 of 2004 on Procedures for Member Appointment, Dismissal of Members, Organizational Structure, Procedures of Inspection of Notary Supervisory Board. And the obstacles encountered are gathering the supervisory assembly from 3 elements (government, academia, notary organization), and some internal and external constraints that the Supervisory Board has in performing its duty to oversee Notaries. The importance of the duties and authorities of the Supervisory Assembly should be that the community, the government, the Notary and the Supervisory Board work together to create a Notary who has ethics and morals.
