- Gondang dam is a dam located in Karanganyar District, Central Java. This dam is intended to hold 10 million m3 of water volume on an area of 43.86 hectare, which later on is targeted to give water supply for 4,680 hectare of rice fields. Gondang dam is constructed on several main components: foundation, body of the dam, canal, floodgate, spillway, reservoir, stilling basin and valves. This designing is conducted with an intention of producing Hollow Cone valves that fit the needs and conditions of Gondang dam, Central Java. Data that are obtained in this designing are factual. Designing methods that were used are valve concepts planning, valve concepts designing, valve construction designing, and details designing. The valve designing using a 56.5 m valve head results in valve maximum debit value of 9.378 m3/s with valve total pressure of 181, 859.542 kg/m2 as well as 9,178.979 kg of valve opening operating load and 9.345,508 kg of valve closing operating load.
