  • ABSTRACT This design aims to design an oil palm frond chopper with a capacity of 120 kg / hour, this is to reduce waste from oil palm, thus helping to make it easier for cattle farmers to use it as livestock feed. The results of this design are expected to be applied in the City of Pelaihari, which is one of the cities in South Borneo which has many oil palm plantations and also cattle breeding. The design method used refers to the Pahl and Beitz methods, namely with the task planning steps, product concept design, product shape design and detailed design. By using the Pahl and Beitz method, the calculation results obtained among them is a 150 mm long dimension count enumerator totaling 49 stems. Electric motor with 3.2 HP power. Pulley in diameter 111 mm and out diameter 277,5 mm. Rubber type D belt. Shaft diameter 40 mm length 1200 mm. Stake diameter 8 mm, height 7 mm, length 43.6 mm. Open type ball bearing type 6004, internal diameter 40 mm, outer diameter 60 mm and width 12 mm
