- The study determine the effect of friction speed variations on friction welding to tensile strength 6061 aluminum. This research was carried out using an experimental method using a lathe with a rotation variation of 745 Rpm, 1160 Rpm, and 1800 Rpm, and a friction time of 90 seconds. Furthermore, each variation is done tensile test to determine the tensile strength of the specimen. Obtained the highest tensile strength of the specimen at 745 RPM rotation of 0.11942 kN / mm2 and the lowest tensile strength at 1800 Rpm friction speed of 0.112368 kN / mm2 .. This shows that faster friction does not always result in higher tensile strength.
