- The over-use of gadgets or overusing gadgets will cause negative impacts to children. In order to be able to minimize the negative impacts, parents need to control or observe their children when they were using gadgets. Nowadays, there are still many parents who didn’t realize the meaning of controlling or observing the usage of their children’s gadget itself. In order to make them understand more about controlling children’s usage of gadget, two of many ways are psychoeducation intervention and mind-mapping, in which psychoeducation could increase parents’ understanding and mind mapping would make them easier to create a control strategy. The objective of this research is to find out and help parents understand more about the influence of psychoeducation intervention and mind mapping toward increasing parents’ social control in children’s usage of gadget. This research was experimental research by using control-group pretest-post test design. The result of the research shows that there was a significant difference between experimental group and control group in parent’ social controlling level between pre test and the post test with a p < 0,05 (p=0,000) significance point. According to the result, it could be concluded that psychoeducation intervention and mind mapping had influence toward parents’ social control in children’s usage of gadget
