- The Lack of motivation and interest of students in Thematic learning, due to the limited learning media used during the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a learning media that can improve students' motivation and interest in learning. This research aims to develop the media "Flipbook" in the form of educational comics on thematic learning at first grade of Elementary School to improve students' motivation and interest on thematic learning, and to know the students' responses to the development of "Flipbook" media in the form of educational comic on thematic learning at first grade of elementary school. This type of research is research and development. The method used is quantitative descriptive method. The development model used is the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model has the following steps: (1) Analyze. (2) Design, (3) Development. (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluation. While data analysis used is qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that the development of "Flipbook" Media in the Form of Educational Comics obtained a decent feasibility percentage to be used based on the validation of experts. Validation by expert of learning media get percentage equal to 78,46% and validation by material expert get the percentage equal to 93,3%. The attractiveness and effectiveness of learning media can be seen from the implementation of instructional media at first grade based on students' responses and teacher’s responses / thematic learning experts. The percentage of teacher’s responses / thematic learning experts is 90%, while the percentage of students’ responses in SDN 01 Donowarih Karangploso are 98.8%. Students' responses are seen from the enthusiasm of students who are very high in both female and male students. Students with confidence go forward with their group to play the role under the guidance of the researcher.
